Ever since I saw kittenwars and Hot or Not a couple of years back, I’ve thought of creating a photo battle version for girls. Back then though, I didn’t have the time and image processing with php was more complicated. I would have thought some one would have created a site like this already. Well, two years on, php has improved immensely and it’s actually got ready made functions to handle all the image uploading and resizing I need for this idea. Better yet, I haven’t seen anything similar yet. Well, nothing that’s taken over the internet yet.

Whilst php has come a long way, this site still has taken me a lot more effort than any of the previous Grand Ideas. I’ve learnt quite a deal on php (eg. image resizing), mysql queries (eg. randomising results), and cascading style sheets (you have no idea how hard it is to get the site to look remotely similar in IE and firefox!).

There’s still more functionality left to add in but it’s got the basic mechanics to start with. Well, what do you think?
