After a couple of weeks off from my online operations, recouperating from a fever that knocked me completely out for three days, and all the while trying to skill up in my new contract, I have decided to scale down my FreeServing operations. It’s occurred to me, that in order to provide free serving to the masses, I need to dedicate a much more significant portion of my day to managing the servers, managing a team of people to look after more servers, and if I get it wrong, it’s going to cost me a lot of money. With my new project being so full on, this is just not going to happen. Hence, I’ve stopped accepting new sign ups, and will only be considering referrals from existing customers. All is not lost, I have learnt a lot on generating interest online, gaining customers, and designing a site layout. The site is still up but I think I’ll now wait til the end of my current contract to recommence my attempt to take the hosting world by storm..!
In the meantime, I’ve stumbled across Dan Raine’s 15K Challenge. As he explains it, he’s having a bet with his drink buddies that he can make 15k in a month starting with only $150. And then he’ll give it all away to some random guy who signs up to his email list. I’m a bit weary of that cos it sounds smack bang like a marketing scam. You an access his blog without actually signing up here. It’s day 16 and it doesn’t look like he’s made a cent … but hey, it’s month two for me and I haven’t gotten anywhere either :p
With scaling down of Free Serving, I have been working on a new master plan which I hope to be able to unveal in the next week or so.. stay tuned..! :)

hey Jerry, sorry to hear about the FreeServing.com scaleback… at least I got my site hosted yay! :) I understand where you are coming from, as I’ve had to scale back my own website *shameless plug* http://www.gourmandonline.com *shameless plug*, due to work commitments…
Can’t wait to hear of ‘the new plan’ :)
