Spotplex.com: The Digg for blogs

There’s Digg spin offs everywhere but this latest site, Spotplex, has a new twist. It’s just like digg except stories are not submitted by users. Blogmasters put a little code on their posts and each time the post is viewed, it reports back to Spotplex. The more times the blog is read, the higher up the rankings it gets.

Seems like a novel idea but the ranking mechanism favours the big blogs too much. Any blog post on the huge blogs with 100K+ readers will naturally appear at the top of the rankings even if the posts have no substance. And what’s with the name? What the hell is a spotplex???
